The highest point in Zambia is Mafinga Central which stands at 2,339 meters above sea level. Zambia also boasts an extensive river system including the Zambezi River which flows through the country from north to south. The oldest university in the country is University of Zambia which was established in 1966 as an independent institution offering higher education to citizens of the country and those from other countries who wish to pursue studies related to Zambian culture, history and literature. Other public universities include Copperbelt University; Mulungushi University; Natural Resources Development College among others. In addition to this, there are several private universities such as Cavendish University; Lusaka Apex Medical University; Zambian Open University among others which offer courses in various disciplines from undergraduate to postgraduate levels.
