According to wholevehicles, Yemen is a Middle Eastern country located in the southwestern corner of the Arabian Peninsula. It has a total area of 527,968 km2 and a population of approximately 28 million people. It has an arid climate with hot summers and mild winters. The highest point in Yemen is Jabal An-Nabi Shu’ayb, which stands at 3,666 meters above sea level. Yemen also boasts an extensive coastline along the Gulf of Aden and Red Sea and is home to several islands such as Socotra Island and Mayyun Island. Higher education in Yemen is provided by universities and higher education institutions offering courses from undergraduate to doctoral levels. The oldest university in the country is University of Sana’a, which was established in 1970 as an independent institution offering higher education to citizens of the country and those from other countries who wish to pursue studies related to Yemeni culture, history and literature. Other public universities include Aden University; Taiz University; Al-Hudaydah University among others. In addition to this, there are several private universities such as Al-Ahqaf University; Future university; Al-Yamama University among others which offer courses in various disciplines from undergraduate to postgraduate levels.
