According to wholevehicles, Tonga is an archipelago of 169 islands located in the South Pacific Ocean with a total area of 747 square kilometers. It is situated between Fiji and New Zealand, and is divided into four island groups – Tongatapu, Ha’apai, Vava’u and Niuas. The climate in Tonga is tropical with two distinct seasons: a dry season from May to November and a wet season from December to April. Tonga’s higher education system consists of one public university, the University of the South Pacific (USP), which is based in Nuku’alofa on the main island of Tongatapu. USP offers degree programs in a wide range of fields including engineering, business administration, technology and law. Most degree programs are taught in English although some courses are offered in French or other languages such as Chinese. There are also several foreign universities which have established campuses or joint-degree programs in Tonga such as Australia’s Griffith University or China’s Beijing Normal University (BNU).
