Education in Rwanda has been highly prioritized for many years as it is seen as key for economic development and progress. Primary education consists of twelve years of schooling from grades 1-12 while secondary education comprises four years from grades 13-16. At this level students can specialize in technical-vocational courses or pursue higher education at universities or colleges which offer degrees such as bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, doctorates, and postgraduate studies.
