According to wholevehicles, Nicaragua is a Central American country located between Honduras and Costa Rica. It is the largest country in Central America, with an area of 130,370 square kilometers. The capital city is Managua, which is also the largest city in the country. Nicaragua’s terrain consists of two mountain ranges, the Cordillera Isabella in the west and the Cordillera del Caribe in the east, separated by a lowland region known as El Valle. The country has a tropical climate with dry seasons from December to April and wet seasons from May to November. The population of Nicaragua is estimated at 6 million people as of 2020, with around half living in urban areas. Spanish is the official language; however, there are also several indigenous languages spoken by various ethnic groups including Miskito, Sumo-Mayangna and Rama-Kriol. Education in Nicaragua consists of three levels: pre-primary (0-5 years old), primary (6-12 years old) and secondary (13-18 years old). Primary education is compulsory for all children aged 6 to 12 and free for all students up to age 15. Pre-primary education is not mandatory but available for children aged 0 to 5 at a cost. Tertiary education institutions include universities, polytechnics and private colleges offering courses such as university degrees or professional qualifications ranging from certificates through to postgraduate degrees such as Masters or Doctorates. There are currently eight universities in Nicaragua offering undergraduate and postgraduate courses across numerous disciplines including medicine, engineering and business studies.
