Higher Education in EthiopiaHigher education in Ethiopia is provided by public universities such as Addis Ababa University (AAU) founded in 1950; a number of private universities such as Unity University; vocational training institutes; colleges; technical schools; and specialized institutions such as Ethiopian Health Science University (EHSU). AAU offers a wide range of undergraduate degrees across various disciplines including engineering, medicine, law and business administration among others while EHSU provides specialized courses related to health sciences. Admission into higher education institutions for undergraduate programs can be obtained through passing grade 12 national examination administered by Ministry of Education (MoE). Additionally students have access to financial aid through government scholarships administered by MoE which provide assistance for students with financial needs so they can pursue higher education without incurring significant costs; while international students can also apply for grants offered by African Union through its Pan African Scholarship Scheme which provides funding for study abroad opportunities within member states.
