According to COUNTRYAAH, Mexico (Spanish: México) is a state in North America, only the southern part of the country – around 12% of the total area – is geographically part of Central America.
The largest Spanish-speaking country in the world borders the United States in the north and is bounded by Guatemala and Belize in the south. The area of Mexico is almost two million square kilometers, almost six times as large as the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Important regions of the country include the Yucatán peninsula with Playa del Carmen and the neighboring tourist center of Cancun, the famous coastal town of Acapulco on the Pacific, the Mayan stronghold of San Cristóbal de las Casas and the border town of Tijuana. In addition to the capital Mexico City, the cities of Monterrey, Puebla and Guadalajara are of enormous economic importance.

The highest peaks are the mountains Citlaltépetl, Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl (all over 5000 meters).

Climate in Mexico
The climate in Mexico is as varied as its altitude and landscape. Regionally, therefore, the climatic conditions differ from subtropical to alpine to a classic desert climate.
The southeast of Mexico is considered to be humid in summer and has tropical characteristics, while the west on the border with California has more of a winter rainy climate. In the most important tourist regions, especially the Yucatan and the area around Cancun, there are only minor temperature fluctuations.
The high humidity and the mostly enormous temperatures in May herald an extended rainy season in the southeast, the central highlands and some Pacific coastal areas. From June to September, falls the most rain in the country.
During the month of September, the hurricane season reaches its peak on the coasts of Mexico. The October is in most parts of the country for a reversal, while still expected in Yucatán with some heavy showers. From November the dry season ensures stability.
