Kuwait Weather and Climate
According to COUNTRYAAH, Kuwait, emirate at the northern end of the Persian Gulf. The country, consisting largely of desert, is one of the most important oil regions on earth. Pipelines lead to the three refineries and petroleum export ports. The petrochemical industry, fertilizer production and seawater desalination are important.
History: Kuwait gained complete independence in 1961. In 1990 the emirate was occupied by Iraq, in Gulf War 2) freed from an international military force under the leadership of the USA.
Kuwaiti are the exclusively Muslim citizens whose families must have been resident in Kuwait since 1920. According to this, just under a third of the population are citizens of Kuwait, around 69% are foreigners (including the Bedouins with unclear citizenship). Since the beginning of oil exports, the population has grown steadily due to the influx of foreign workers (around 83% of the workforce today). Around 45% of foreigners come from South Asia (mainly from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka), 40% from Arab states (including Egypt and Syria). The average population density is (2017) 232 residents / km 2, but the population is mainly concentrated in the capital agglomeration and the oil centers. The total proportion of the urban population is 98%. The historical approach to the settlement was the port of Kuwait (German: “Small Castle”), located outside the silting area of the Shatt al-Arab in a sheltered bay.

The annual average temperature is 25.7 ° C. For comparison: Munich reaches an average of 8.6 ° C, in Berlin it is 9.6 ° C. The warmest month is July (37.7 ° C), coldest month of January with mean values of 12.5 ° C. The maximum water temperature is 32 ° C. Comfortable bathing is possible at these temperatures. All but January and February have a water temperature of at least 17 ° C. Bathing is then possible to a limited extent. All except January, February, March and December have a water temperature of at least 21 ° C and are therefore suitable for a beach holiday.
The annual precipitation is 108 mm. For comparison: In Munich, 967 mm, in Berlin 570 mm, precipitation is measured annually. There is no rainy season, i.e. months with more than 175 mm of precipitation. Snowfall is generally not expected in any month.
