The climate of Xi’an

Xi’an is the capital of Shaanxi Province in central China. It is one of the oldest cities in China. The city was founded about 3000 years ago. That past is still everywhere. In the old buildings such as in “the pagoda of the big wild goose”, the drum tower and the old city wall, but also in the form of the terracotta army that was discovered here and is still on display.

According to DigoPaul, Xi’an is somewhat in between two climate types in terms of climate. It is a borderline case between the cold and warm steppe climate. In the summer it is hot and humid, in the winter it is cold and dry. When temperatures begin to rise in the spring, dust storms can form.
