Advantages To Using Y-Strainers - compact; fits easily in-line - well suited to nuclear and waste process systems where other system components require protection from active contamination - filter cartridge can be tailored to alter system pressure drop or to change acceptable screen size - change of filter cartridge can be effected without costly delay - direction of flow is radially outward from the cartridge interior to the cartridge exterior, resulting in the entrapment of particulate in the inside wall of the cartridge.
