The VCT2000 (Vehicle Communication Tool 2000) is a communication device between the vehicle and the VADIS Cart or Tough Book. It is used for downloading software from VADIS to the vehicle, reading off DTCs and to perform other diagnostics for various electronic control modules. The VCT2000 for diagnostics and reading off DTCs can only be used on cars year model 99 and newer which means that the VCT2000 replaces the Volvo System Tester communication tool on 99- vehicles. To update the VCT2000, you will need: -A VCT2000 connected to the computer and the 6 M cable. -Power supply for the VCT2000.
