Real Goods has been a leader in the sustainable living market for more than 30 years by providing lifestyle products, education and solar education.
Real Goods was conceived by John Schaeffer as a company designed to provide sustainable goods needed for independent, off-the-grid living and at fair prices. In 1978, Johns idea became an actual business. The company has since grown into a mail-order and online retail company, still providing sustainable goods in addition to solar system installations.
In 2001, Real Goods merged with health and lifestyle media company, Gaiam of Boulder, CO, allowing the company to expand and reach millions of new customers across the Front Range of Colorado. In the last two years, Real Goods has acquired four solar installation companies who are known as the best in the state, which has resulted in the branding of Real Goods Solar in 2009. |
