Provides noncombustible furring for interior and exterior walls. Wide knurled face prevents screw “ ride” and facilitates easy installation. Rigid framework for high-quality finish. Use to level uneven surfaces. Available in 7/8” and 1-1/2” depths and other sizes are available. Economical hat-shaped corrosion-resistant framing component used to furr out ceilings and masonry walls assemblies. In concrete wall applications, furring channel is installed vertically to the wall surface using concrete nails or power-driven fasteners. Gypsum panels are then screw-attached to the furring channels. In ceiling applications, furring channels can be attached directly to the underside of the building structure perpendicularly using wire-tied, screws or power-driven fasteners at appropriate intervals. Furring channel is also used in conjunction with u-channel, hanger wire and furring channel clips to form a rigid suspended ceiling framework. Gypsum panels, veneers or metal lath for plaster finished are attached to the furring. Heavier gauge furring enables greater spans and loading capacity.
